Company Brief
AMI Saudi Arabia Ltd. (AMI) was formed in 1981 as a joint venture between XENEL Industries and American Medical International: it became a wholly Saudi owned company in 1988. AMI developed into one of the Kingdom's leading healthcare management companies managing a total of 2,300 beds in hospitals owned by The Saudi Arabian National Guard, The Ministry of Interior, The Ministry of Health and The Ministry of Defence and Aviation. The Quality Management Programme used accords with the standards laid down by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organisations (JCAHO) in the United States.

In 1997 AMI became managing partners with the privately owned Maghrabi Hospital and Centres based in Saudi Arabia. Maghrabi 's 60 bed Specialist Hospital in Jeddah has operated since 1955 providing leading edge services in ophthalmology, ENT and dentistry. The hospital received accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1991 and is closely affiliated with John Hopkins Hospital in the USA with whom it operates a Visiting Professor Programme.

Magrabi has subsequently expanded to provide international quality eye and ENT care to millions of people in 14 Hospitals and Medical Centres, 8 of which are charitable, located across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar.
